This seminar will explore sustainable practices in the fashion industry, with a particular focus on sourcing and production. Led by two influential experts, the session will provide a comprehensive exploration of the key challenges and opportunities in these areas.

Jasmien Wynants, co-founder of MASJIEN and Belgium's 'Sustainability Professional of the Year' in 2023, will lead the discussion on sourcing. A recognized leader in sustainable fashion, Jasmien has worked with numerous fashion brands, advising them on how to integrate sustainability into their core strategies. She will delve into the advantages and challenges of various materials and present innovative, sustainable alternatives that are paving the way for the future of fashion.

Christelle Loozen, a seasoned textile consultant with over 25 years of experience, will focus on production. She will share her insights into production techniques and strategies that minimize environmental impact, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

ABOUT JASMIEN WYNANTS 

Jasmien is co-founder of MASJIEN - the agency for fashion, sustainability and technology - where she offers consultancy, keynotes and project management services linked to sustainability in the fashion industry. She’s a leading force driving sustainability in the fashion industry. Her impactful work earned her the title 'Sustainability Professional of the Year' in 2023 in Belgium. Over the years, she has advised various fashion brands on sustainability strategies, including clients like Xandres, JBC, CKS, Mayerline and Tomorrowland. Jasmien also engages consumers through projects like the Flanders Technology & Innovation circular fashion track, the guided tour she created for the Antwerp fashion museum and her children's book 'Groeien broeken aan bomen?'. As lecturer at Thomas More University and keynote speaker, she communicates essential environmental science topics to a broader audience, leaving a positive impact on the fashion community and beyond.


ABOUT CHRISTELLE LOOZEN

Christelle Loozen has been a product development consultant in the textile industry since 1997. Passionate about fashion from an early age, she pursued her studies at ESMOD Paris, where she specialized in men’s fashion, graduating with the highest distinction and receiving the jury prize. With over 25 years of expertise in denim, she has collaborated with leading companies across Belgium and Europe. Today, as a consultant, Christelle focuses on combining her extensive industry experience with her commitment to sustainability, advocating for clothing that respects both people and the planet.
